Intelligence is a crucial direction for the development of mechatronics technology in the 21st century. Artificial intelligence is increasingly valued in the research of mechatronics engineers, with the intelligent development of robots and CNC machine tools being important applications. The "intelligence" mentioned here describes machine behavior. It is based on control theory, incorporating new ideas and methods from artificial intelligence, operations research, computer science, fuzzy mathematics, psychology, physiology, and chaos dynamics to simulate human intelligence. This allows machines to possess capabilities such as judgment, reasoning, logical thinking, and autonomous decision-making, in order to achieve higher control objectives. Admittedly, it is impossible and unnecessary to make mechatronic products possess exactly the same intelligence as humans. However, high-performance, high-speed microprocessors make it entirely possible and necessary for mechatronic products to possess low-level intelligence or some aspects of human intelligence.
