Policy support has been introduced; the integration of basic electronic components and electromechanical industries is imminent.

A neighboring exhibition hall will be hosting the "China International Small Motor, Magnetic Material, and Special Robot Technology Symposium and Exhibition." This collaboration between the two platforms signifies a new trend in industrial integration and development.

Recently, China Electronics Exhibition and Information Dissemination Co., Ltd. and the 21st Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation signed a strategic cooperation agreement at the "Symposium for Media and Analysts on the Synergistic Development of Next-Generation Information Technology, Basic Electronic Components, and Small Motors." According to China Electronics News, this collaboration is not merely a partnership between two leading exhibition platforms, but also an initiative to promote China's electronics information industry and build a platform for industrial integration, exchange, and display in the direction of "Internet of Everything" and "Intelligent Manufacturing."

In addition, representatives from many leading industry manufacturers attended the symposium.

Continuous Policy Support; Integration of Basic Electronic Components and Electromechanical Industries is Urgent

Emerging information technologies such as 5G, intelligence, and the Internet of Things are constantly innovating. However, China's electronic component industry currently suffers from issues such as being large but not strong overall, a lack of leading enterprises, and insufficient innovation capabilities. In response to these problems, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the "Action Plan for the Development of the Basic Electronic Component Industry" at the beginning of the year. The plan aims to significantly expand the industry's scale by 2023, achieving total sales of electronic components reaching 21 trillion yuan, further solidifying China's position as a major global producer of electronic components; achieving breakthroughs in technological innovation and improving the patent layout of key products; and forming a group of electronic component enterprises with international competitive advantages, striving for 15 enterprises to achieve revenue exceeding 10 billion yuan. It will promote the differentiated application of electronic components in key industries such as smart terminals, 5G, industrial internet and data centers, and intelligent connected vehicles. Facing emerging needs in areas such as artificial intelligence, advanced computing, the Internet of Things, new energy, and new infrastructure, it will develop miniaturized, high-performance, high-efficiency, and high-reliability electronic components urgently needed in key application areas, encouraging the active application of innovative products by equipment manufacturers and accelerating the iterative upgrading of component products. This action plan brings unprecedented development opportunities for China's electronic component enterprises. At the symposium, Dr. Wang Ruoda, a researcher at the Integrated Circuit Institute of the China Electronic Information Industry Development Institute, who is one of the main drafters of documents such as the "Action Plan for the Development of the Basic Electronic Component Industry" and a long-term researcher in the fields of electronic components, integrated circuit packaging and testing, automotive semiconductors, key equipment and materials, said: "Accelerating the development of electronic components and key supporting materials and equipment industries and improving the modernization level of the industrial chain and supply chain are of great significance to promoting the development of China's information technology industry, promoting the optimization and upgrading of the economic system, and achieving high-quality development of the national economy." Download the "Action Plan for the Development of the Basic Electronic Component Industry".

In addition, the new national standard "Energy Efficiency Limits and Energy Efficiency Grades for Electric Motors" (GB18613-2020), which came into effect on June 1, clearly stipulates that the industry shall not produce or sell motors that do not meet the IE3 energy efficiency limits, and that users shall not purchase such non-compliant motor products. This will have a huge impact not only on China's motor industry, but also on the rapidly developing intelligent and connected electromechanical products in China, such as various robots including widely used automated guided vehicles (AGVs), new energy vehicles, drones, and new home appliances such as sweeping robots. This policy presents both opportunities and challenges for the small motor industry, whose applications are becoming increasingly widespread, requiring high efficiency, energy saving, and continuous innovation, and will deeply affect the development of downstream motor application systems.

With the strong support of these two policies, the integration of the basic electronic components and electromechanical industries undoubtedly paves the way for innovative development in the Internet of Everything and intelligent manufacturing. As influential exhibition platforms in China's electronics information industry—the China Electronics Exhibition and the China (International) Small Motor Technology Symposium and Exhibition, the largest professional event in Asia and even the world—they will shoulder the arduous mission of promoting the integration of electronic components and electromechanical industries. He Qionghua, deputy general manager of China Electronics Exhibition and Information Dissemination Co., Ltd., said: "Currently, China's electronics information industry has become a large industry with a scale of 10 trillion yuan. The China Electronics Exhibition, based on the professional basic electronic component industry exchange platform, expands the platform from three dimensions to support the development of China's electronics information industry. First, it comprehensively showcases innovations in the basic electronic component industry to support rapid industry development; second, it continuously expands the industrial ecosystem to establish a richer supply chain and channels to ensure the stable development of the electronics information manufacturing industry; and third, it conducts various cross-industry collaborations to promote innovative development based on the needs of the industry and enterprises. Our strategic cooperation with the Small Motor Exhibition (SMTCE) is to meet the needs of many intelligent and connected electromechanical systems."

Chen Bao, director of the International Business Department of the 21st Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation, said: "We are very pleased to sign a strategic cooperation agreement with the China Electronics Exhibition. This agreement is not limited to the cooperation of two industry-leading exhibitions, but comes from the needs of China's electronics information industry, especially the basic electronic components and small motor industries, because the Internet of Everything and intelligent manufacturing have created a strong demand for our cooperation, and this has been verified in many fields such as intelligent vehicles, drones, sweeping robots, AGVs, and other robots. I believe that this natural cooperation will surely promote the emergence of more pioneering innovations and encourage innovative enterprises to discover more new blue oceans."

The China Electronics Exhibition has been successfully held for 97 sessions. This session features a wealth of supporting activities, creating a multi-dimensional industry event encompassing "exhibition, competition, awards, and conference." In addition to 30,000 square meters of exhibition activities, there are also supporting events such as a welding competition, awards for the commercial and technological innovation strength of electronic components, and the release of new products and technologies. More than 30 industry-specific conferences will also be held concurrently with the exhibition, including component series forums, Internet of Things series forums, automotive electronics series activities, intelligent manufacturing and industrial internet series forums, and special component series forums.
